How to install CAREWare with User Access Control turned on. The only difference between the two operating systems is an extra is necessary during the initial installation on a Windows 8 PC.
- Download the CAREWare Client Tier setup file
- Double click on the rwcarewareclientiersetup.msi file
- When notified that "Windows is protecting your PC" click on "More Info"
- Click on Run Anyway
- Click Next
- Verify the path the client tier will be installed to and click on the Everyone check box
- Click Next
- Click I agree and then click Next
- When prompted to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes click Yes
- Complete the installation as normal
These steps will only work if User Access Control is turned off. If UAC is enabled, then the steps used to install CAREWare on a Windows 7 machine will work without issue.
