CAREWare users are now to able to transmit client related messages to other CAREWare users on the same or different provider domains within the same CAREWare network instance. This will allow users to instantly communicate new or time sensitive information regarding a specific client to other users and ensure reception of the message.

As with all data in CAREWare these messages will be securely stored in the CAREWare database and changes can be tracked using the change logs. Users will also be able to review all received and sent messages at their discretion. Messaging is only enabled on a single provider domain at a time by default. The CAREWare administrator can enable cross provider messaging in order for specific users to communicate across provider domains within the same CAREWare instance regarding specific clients.

To turn on messaging:

  1. Login to the Central Administration domain
  2. Go to Administrative Options>Provider/User Manager
  3. Expand 'Real-Time Providers'
  4. Double click on the provider domain to enable messaging on
  5. Expand 'Domain Name' Permissions
  6. Click on Provider Permissions
  7. In the search box type in "Messaging"
  8. Right click on 'Enable Messaging' and select 'Grant'
  9. Right click on 'Enable Cross Provider Messaging' and select 'Grant' *
  10. Click 'Save'

Completing the above steps will turn on messaging and cross provider messaging for the provider domain.

To enable messaging for a user:

  1. Login to the Central Administration domain
  2. Go to Administrative Options>Provider/User Manager
  3. Expand 'Real-Time Providers'
  4. Double click on the provider domain
  5. Expand 'Users' and then expand "user name" for which messaging is to be granted to
  6. Click on 'Individual Permissions'
  7. # In the search box type in "Messaging"
  8. Right click on 'Enable Messaging' and select 'Grant'
  9. Right click on 'Enable Cross Provider Messaging' and select 'Grant' *
  10. Click 'Save'

  • Note: Enabling Cross Provider Messaging is no required in order to only enable messaging on a single provider domain.
