Receiving error: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\CAREWare\RW CAREWare Client Tier\CWUpdater.exe' is denied

This error normally occurs due to User Access Control (UAC). You will need to either run the client.exe file as Administrator or uninstall the current client and install the build specific client tier.

To run the client.exe file as Administration using the following steps:

  1. Go to the client tier directory (Default location: C:\Program Files\CAREWare\RW CAREWare Client Tier\)
  2. Locate the client.exe file and right click on it
  3. Select Run as Administrator
  4. If prompted for the administrator's password, then please provide it
  5. Log in to CAREWare as normal
  6. Allow the client tier updates to complete
  7. Exit the client tier
  8. Re-open the client tier as normal (Start>All Programs>RW CAREWare Client Tier>Run RW CAREWare Client)
