This error is occurring because the ClientTierSettings.XML file in the client tier directory has become corrupted. You can resolve it by completing the following steps:

  1. Go to the client tier directory (Default location: C:\Program Files\CAREWare\RW CAREWare Client Tier)
  2. Locate and highlight the ClientTierSettings.XML file
  3. Delete the ClientTierSettings.XML file
  4. Open and log in to CAREWare as normal

After completing the above steps you will need to re-add your server IP address or hostname to the server list if you connect to a remote PC or server. To do this please follow these steps:

  1. Open CAREWare
  2. Click on 'Options'
  3. Click on 'Server List'
  4. Click on 'Add'
  5. Add the server hostname or IP address and click 'Save'
  6. Click on 'Close'
  7. Using the Server List pulldown menu, choose the newly added server
  8. Login to CAREWare using your user name and password
