To unlock a user account using the Provider/User Manager:
- Log in to the Central Administration Domain.
- Go to Administrative Options>Provider/User Manager.
- Expend Central Administration’s Users and Permission.
- Expend Users and right click on the user account that is locked.
- Select Undo User Lockout.
How to unlock a user account in version 5, build 575 and higher:
- From the main menu go to Administrative Options>User Administration
- Highlight the user name that is locked out
- Press F1 Undo User Lockout
- You can also change the user's password at this time by pressing F2 Change Password
To unlock a user account using the CW Admin.exe:
- Go to the business tier directory. (Default Location: C:\Program Files\CAREWare\RW CAREWare Business Tier)
- Double click on CW Admin.exe.
- Stop the server.
- Highlight ResetLockoutAndPasswordForUser then click Edit.
- In the Setting field enter the user account you want to unlock and click Save.
- Start the server and close the CW Admin.exe.
- Log in to CAREWare using the locked account.
- You will be prompted to provide a new password. Passwords must be 8 characters long and contain 2 alpha numeric characters.
- You will be prompted again to log in to CAREWare. The account is now unlocked.
To unlock a user account in version 5 using the CW Admin.exe:
- Go to the business tier directory. (Default Location: C:\Program Files\CAREWare\RW CAREWare Business Tier).
- Double click on CW Admin.exe.
- Press Stop Server
- Click on the Common Storage Settings
- Locate the ResetLockoutAndPasswordForUser.
- In the comm_st_text column next to the ResetLockoutAndPasswordForUser enter the user account you want to unlock then click on another column/row.
- Click on the Server Settings tab.
- Start the server and close the CW Admin.exe.
- Log in to CAREWare using the locked account.
- You will be prompted to provide a new password. Passwords must be 8 characters long and contain 2 alpha numeric characters.
- You will be prompted again to log in to CAREWare. The account is now unlocked.
