There is no current documentation on how to use the attachment custom field. Below are the necessary steps to create a custom attachment field and how to use it on the client screen.
To create an attachment custom field:
- Login to CAREWare
- Goto Administrative Options>Custom Features>Custom Client Fields
- Click Add/Edit/Activate Controls
- Click Create New Control
- Provide the field name for the attachment
- Choose Attachment from the Control Data Type pull down menu
- In the Allowed Field Types enter the allowed attachment extensions.
Ex. ZIP;DOC;JPG
Note: The ; is required between each extension - Click on the three dots in a box for Control Types
- Click Add
- Enter a control type name to identify the separate attachment extensions or the category for the attachment
Ex. Xray or JPG - Click Save
- Continue adding control type names for each category necessary
- Click Exit
- Click Save
- Make sure the new attachment field is Active = Yes and close back to main menu
To use the attachment field on a client:
- Login to CAREWare
- Find a client
- Go to the Custom Tab 1*
- Click on Attachments **
- Click Attach New Fields
- Browse for the file on the local PC and select it
- Click Open
- Select the Control Type from the pull down menu
- Enter any comments necessary
- Click Save
- The attachment custom field can vary by location; i.e. custom tab 1, 2, 3 or custom subform
