The latest medication import can be found in the client tier directory if you have the most recent build installed. You can also download the medications import file from the HRSA website.

  1. Log into the provider domain
  2. Click Administrative Options
  3. Click Clinical Encounter Setup
  4. Click Medications Setup
  5. Click Advanced Options
  6. Click on the ellipses in the upper right corner
  7. Browse to the client tier directory (Default location: C:\Program Files\CAREWare\RW CAREWare Client Tier)
  8. Locate the medications import file called MedicationsImportX.XX.XML. (X.XX is the build number) Highlight the medications import file and click Open.
  9. Search for the medications you would like to import using the search field. Once it appears, highlight it and click Add.
  10. Repeat step 7 until all of the medications are added.
  11. Click Close
  12. Verify that the newly added medications are checked Activated.



You will now be able to chose these new medications for a client on the Medications tab. When importing medications, the medications are added to the list are available for all providers.



From the Central Administration Domain, the steps for importing medications are as follows:

  1. Log into the Central Administration Domain
  2. Click Administrative Options
  3. Click Clinical Encounter Setup
  4. Click Medications Setup
  5. Click on the ellipses in the upper right corner
  6. Browse to the client tier directory (Default location: C:\Program Files\CAREWare\RW CAREWare Client Tier)
  7. Locate the medications import file called MedicationsImportX.XX.XML. (X.XX is the build number) Highlight the medications import file and click Open.
  8. Search for the medications you would like to import using the search field. Once it appears, highlight it and click Add.
  9. Repeat step 7 until all of the medications are added.
  10. Click Close



To activate medications for each provider domain from the Central Administration Domain,

  1. Click Provider Medication Activation
  2. Click the drop down list for Provider
  3. Click the provider domain
  4. Click the box to check and activate each medication
  5. Click Close
