Custom Fields Templates exported using the Make Template MDB in the PDI, create a column for the custom field that is missing a format of Yes/No. Imports using the custom template in the Data Translation Module are left with the value zero, which equals No, instead of Yes or negative one.

This issue occurs for custom fields that are a Control Data Type of Yes/No and a Control Type of CheckBox.

To verify the type of custom field:

  1. Log into CAREWare.
  2. Click Administrative Options.
  3. Click Custom Features.
  4. Click the correct custom field button for that custom field. (i.e. Custom Service Fields for a services custom field.)
  5. Click the custom field to highlight it.
  6. Click Edit Control.

To resolve the issue:

  1. Open the PDI Template using Access.
  2. Right click the table for that custom field. (i.e. exp_services for a custom service field, exp_client for a custom client field, etc.)
  3. Click Design View.
  4. Click the custom field.
  5. Click the format field.
  6. Click the drop down menu for the Format field.
  7. Click Yes/No.
