When editting the clienttiersettings.xml file any changes made to the file are not saved. Changes that are not saved include server name and port number in use. If a new server is added the server is placed in the correct place, but the port number is then set to the previous server's port number.

When checking for a possible workaround the clientTierSettings.XML was not located in the client tier directory, but rather at C:\Users\Adam\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\CAREWare\RW CAREWare Client Tier. The clientTierSettings.XML also was not regenerated by CAREWare as normal.

Workaround is to locate the clientTierSettings.XML file and manually edit it to point to correct server/port. Here is additional information about the setting Windows uses to create this issue.
