Setting Strong Passwords in CAREWare

Modified on Mon, 07 May 2018 16:34 by Kevin Ricciardo — Categorized as: Uncategorized

Passwords for users in CAREWare require eight characters with at least two non-alphabetic and six alphabetic characters by default. CAREWare has several settings to adjust password strength based on the organization's password requirements. This can include a number of lowercase characters, numeric characters, special characters, uppercase characters, or changing the length for the minimum password. These settings are stored in common storage settings. They can be adjusted using the CW Admin Utility.

1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\CAREWare\RW CAREWare Business Tier.
2. Right click CW Admin.
3. Click Run as Administrator.
4. Click Stop Server.
5. Click Common Storage Settings.
6. Click the column header cmm_st_pk to set the list in alphabetical order.
7. Scroll to the password strength settings highlighted below.
