How to turn on Global User Accounts?
Modified on Mon, 16 Jan 2012 11:43 by CAREWare Help Desk — Categorized as: FAQ
Global User Accounts are allowed access to all client data, provider reports, and provider domains through the Global User Permission. This permission is granted by default to the default account: CwTemp during an initial installation of CAREWare. The permission is granted through the Provider/User Manager on the Central Administration domain. You can use the following steps to grant the permission to a CAREWare Central Administration user:
How to grant global user permissions to an account
Login to the Central Administration domain
Go to Administrative Options>Provider/User Manager
Expand Central Administration's Users and Permissions
Expand Users, then expand the user account you would like to grant the permission to
Click on Individual Permissions
Type Global in the Filter Text box at the top
Highlight and Right click on the Global User permission and select Grant
Press F1: or click on F1:Save
Escape or click on Esc:Close
Once the global user permission is granted for a user they will be able to view all data and reports for all provider domains while logged in to the Central Administration domain. If a Central Administration user account does not have the Global User permission, they will only be able to centrally view a provider's data if they have been specifically granted permission to the provider domain. You grant a non-global user access to view additional provider domains using the following steps:
How to grant domain permission to a user account:
Login to the Central Administration domain
Go to Administrative Options>Provider/User Manager
Double click on User/Provider Assignment
Expand the user name you want to grant permission to the domain for
Right click on the provider domain that you want to add the user to
Select Grant
Click Close
Escape or click on Esc:Close
