How do I set the timeout limit?

To turn the inactivity timeout to a longer session you must set the timer in the CW Admin utility. You can find either utility in the RW CAREWare business tier directory (Default location: C:\Program Files\CAREWare\RW CAREWare Business Tier).

  1. Go to the RW CAREWare business tier directory (Default location: C:\Program Files\CAREWare\RW CAREWare Business Tier)
  2. Open the CW Admin.exe utility
  3. Press “Stop Server”
  4. Select “LocalNumberStorage” from the table name combo box in the upper right corner
  5. Select the tag “UserTimeout” and click “Edit”. The Settings field will become enabled on the top box
  6. Change the number from 15 (default) to whatever you would like
  7. Click “Save”
  8. click “Start Server”

This is all that needs to be done to change the timeout setting. There is no way of disabling the timeout setting. If you set the number to 0 in the settings field CAREWare will not open.

Important: Remember this is a security feature, so be careful how long you set the inactivity period to.
