The restriction of personal identifying information (PII) to user specific groups is a new feature to CAREWare. This feature, when enabled for a user, will not display any restricted PII fields on custom reports or canned reports. There are several fields that are included by default for PII including:
- Name
- Age
- Age at date
- First name
- Middle name
- Last name
- URN
These fields will appear as asterisks (*) on a user run report that has encrypt PII enabled. Additional fields can be added to the PII list including zip, HIV status, AIDS Status, or address.
Once encrypt PII is enabled for CAREWare, administrators will need to apply user groups to CAREWare users in order to complete the encrypted PII setup. The user groups will be applied to users on a individual basis and additional user groups can be created to create a number of different restricted groups.
To find
how to setup the encrypt PII user groups and to enable it check out the CAREWare wiki.
